At $18 dollars an hour that comes to $300.00
Your overhead is $100.00 (rent, lunch, computer etc.)
So...Your wholesale price is (costs of supplies plus+ labour+ overhead) times X 2 = (200+300+100)x2= $1,200.00
Your retail or keystone pricing as it is called is the wholesale price times either 2.5 or 3...
So, your retail price is: $1,200.00 X 2.5 = $3,000.00

1) If you pay $33,000.00 dollars a month in rent .
if you earn $6,000.00 dollars a day.
Then, your rent represents one 5 day week of earnings plus applicable taxes.
So.
2)Say your studio is 1,300 square feet.
In old world costs, your rent should be $1,300.00 dollars a month (without the inflation bubble we are seeing now).
So, working backwards from the first example: You should be earning about $260.00 dollars a day to support your rent.
Meaning your daily earnings (260) times 5 (5 working days) equals $1,300.00
3) How does this apply to your life?
Well,
Take your square footage, add a dollar sign. Say 2,000 square feet , so $2,000.00 dollars.
Your rent should be $2,000.00 (if it isn't then you are living in a bubble)...
If your rent is 2 grand a month, then you should be earning 2 grand divided by five, a day.
So, you should be earning, 400 dollars a day.
Thus your rent equals one 5 day week of work.
Then you should have 6000 dollars left per month.
2000 food, 2000 clothing, 2000 stuff.
If you are NOT earning enough money to justify the cost of your studio, then you should downsize.
It is ridiculous to have a huge studio if you are not paying for it with the earnings from your work.
It is also ridiculous to go broke because you are paying too much in rent (the bubble thing.)
Ask for a rent reduction if you think you are paying bubble prices. Or move.
If you own or are buying a place then use the square footage as ballpark.
A 3,000 square foot home costs $300,000.00 dollars to build.
The further you are from the builder, the more times it changes hands, the more profit skim gets added to the price.
The closer you get to actual costs of building the better you will be able to pay for it with your labours.
So...try to buy your new home for as close to square footage times a hundred as possible.
Like this: You want a 4,500 square foot home. Try to pay 4,500 X 100 = $450,000.00

A friend of my family's sent a huge arrangement of flowers for my birthday...The callah lilies were deep dark murky purple...Florist put purple dye in the water & the lilies suck up the purple water & turn purple...
The heads of my callah lilies all fell off a few days later...I think the weight of the thick purple pigment dye inbalanced the delicate lily heads, & they fell off...Pigment has weight...
When you get a brain scan they inject you with dye, which goes into your brain, & then they take a video picture, & can see the dye travelling through your brain & they decide if the dye is flowing well or is blocked or stuck...
But, if pigment has weight & made the heads of my now purple callah lilies fall off, then isn't injecting dye into your brain dangerous? Yes...I think yes...Most definitely Yes...Pigment has weight...

...it was really nice...I was wearing this pretty grey merino wool sweater dress...I felt really good about myself, guys were checking me out...I went to the cafeteria ordered two pieces of fried fish, I guess one extra for Joseph, two of something else, don't remember now...Then I followed a girlfriend to our dorm rooms the beds were all waterbeds...Somehow the fish got eaten it was amazing...Later, a girl in my room was reading her school bill- $30,000.00 dollars for cable...Then, all of a sudden there was a shooting in the cafeteria...
I had 3 different dreams, here they are...
The first was, I was in a small gallery, in the middle of the gallery was the sun, the real sun, glowing, filling the whole room with its glowing energy...
The second dream was, it was nightime, & Joseph & I were preparing to go out flying...Yes, flying...I guess with wings or something...Just before we went out to go for a night flight, our neighbour Grace came to us with a waiver to sign in case something bad happened to us...
The third dream was of a really scary big criminal looking jailed prisoner just looking at me...Big guy...in prison...nuff said...
Here is my interpretation, with some help from Joseph...1) was about the Energy gallery I had just applied to...the Sun in all its glory...2)was about this gallery who charges artists to show- the fly by night interpretation ...3) was my thinking I should stop selling originals & just sell prints- possibly criminal because prints are really the work of printers not the artist...
