below is a painting titled "Windy Sea Cove, curled up with cat"...
It's a sold, 24 by 36 inch oil on linen, original by me, Sari Grove, about some windy accidents that happened...A NFL player was in a small boat that flipped off the coast of Florida (with some friends), a Chinese fishing boat was slung low in the water & having some difficulty, a helicopter crashed off the coast of Newfoundland...I had been noticing wind related climactic change & layered the painting several times with new subject, as they happened...It has metallic in dammar, so it is very hard to photograph...The colours shift with the light...The silhouette of a woman curled up with her cat also mimics the shape off the Newfoundland coast...The painting is a warning to stay home & curl up with your cat because the wind is dangerous...This was worked on in the year 2009...Maybe about 4 months or so, off & on...The child-like frame was added for a show in an art school, where children also learned about art, with some late blooming adults too...
A very very nice painting which my mother decided she wanted for her private collection, so...Who is to argue with mothers??? (I got a fancy schmancy lunch at The National Club in Toronto, which is a very private nice place for a lunch...Members only so it was a real treat for me to see how corporate Canada dines...)(Plus, I now have a new & most excellent connection...)
